A Risky Confession

Photo of many Hawaiian shirts hanging on a bar in a closet.

I have worn
Hawaiian shirts
for five days straight.

I’m not Hawaiian,
nor do I live
in Hawaii.

If you feel the need
to contact
the Fashion Police,
that’s your right.

However,
if they show up
on my front step

(one officer plucking
an errant thread
off her stylish uniform)

I will
NOT
go quietly.

  1. Wear your Hawaiian shirts with pride! The world need more color to brighten our drab “new normal” 🙄 lives. Unlike most of my friends, I wear flashy blouses. Introvert outside…extrovert inside. Go figure…

    1. I like that about the color 🙂 When it’s raining, sometimes I’ll wear a Hawaiian shirt for brightness — just as you noted. As for the introvert/extrovert, I think it might be a matter of comfort. In your living space, you may feel okay to let out that inner extrovert. I can be that way at times.
